The Vento R helmet resting on the Modena workshop bench.
Selev Helmets — Established Modena, 2014

Handcrafted motorcycle helmets engineered for riders who refuse to look like everyone else.

From a single 4,200-square-foot workshop outside Modena, fourteen hands shape, stitch, and cure each shell before it leaves the bench.

The current lineup

Three shells, one workshop.

Only the models carrying current ECE 22.06 certification sit on this page. Every shell is cured, trimmed, and finished in Modena — by the same four composite technicians, on the same benches, under the same roof.

Legacy models manufactured before 2022 do not carry current ECE 22.06 certification and are sold only through the concierge archive.

Bespoke paint program

14 shells. 2,400 combinations. One artisan per helmet.

We do not run a configurator. Every bespoke helmet is a six-week conversation between one of our three leather-and-paint artisans and the rider who commissioned it. No templates, no decal printers, no two helmets leave the workshop alike.

The workshop

From a 4,200-square-foot workshop outside Modena.

Selev was founded in 2014 by Marco Selev and Elena Vento — two composites engineers who had spent the previous decade inside the helmet programs at Bell and Shoei. They opened the workshop on Via dei Carrozzieri with a single autoclave borrowed from a Formula 1 supplier, four technicians, and a conviction that the premium helmet category had become indistinguishable.

Today, fourteen people work under that roof: four composite technicians, three leather artisans, two in-house safety engineers, and a small concierge desk that answers every call from Modena. The annual cap is 1,200 helmets — not as a marketing line, but as a mathematical consequence of how many shells the autoclave can cure in a year and how many liners the partner workshop in Portugal can hand-finish to our standard.

Every helmet is built to order. Nothing is stocked. Nothing is discounted. If you order one, you will wait.
